Homeopathy (alternatively spelled Homoeopathy) is a system of holistic medicine involving the treatment of physical and psychological illness with minute doses of natural substances. It is based on the principle of treating “like with like,” using preparations of precise concentrations and specific dosages to stimulate the body’s own natural healing response. Homeopathy is an age-old skill with ongoing relevance and significance in the contemporary age.
The Health and Harmony Colleges Foundation Homeopathy Consultant course begins by introducing students to the fundamentals of homeopathic medicine, including human anatomy and physiology, miasms (with acute and chronic disease profiling), the foundational Homeopathic Laws, and the concept of vital energy. The course goes on to provide students with comprehensive information about a wide array of important homeopathic remedies from traditional and contemporary Materia Medica (including herbal remedies, the Bach Flower Remedies, and biochemical tissue salts), and discusses methods of their proving, and issues with potency. It considers the active constituents of homeopathic remedies and their pharmacological action, physiological cleansing, and detoxification, vitamin therapy, and allergies/intolerances in homeopathic practice. The course concludes with a module on the development of skills in professional homeopathic consultation. Students who successfully complete this course will have the complex set of skills and knowledge necessary to effectively promote health through the use of homeopathic remedies.
